The rules will apply to legal relations that have arisen since February 24 last year. We are talking about the payment of pensions to former military personnel and other security officials who decided to resume service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other military formations during the period of counter-terrorism and other operations outside of Russia or were called up for military service on mobilization.
As Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin explained earlier, if military pensioners return to military service in a position with a salary lower than the one from which their pension was calculated, when pension payments are resumed, their pension is also reduced. Such rules are in force now, and the deputies considered them unfair.
“A military pensioner who did not stand aside from participating in the SVO, applies his experience, even if in a lower position, should have his pension in the same increased amount,” he stressed.
The new law affects those who previously:
- did military service
- served in the internal affairs bodies,
- worked in the State Fire Service,
- served in the bodies for the control of the circulation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances,
- worked in institutions and bodies of the penitentiary system.
The law will allow them to calculate a pension calculated from a salary that will be large at the time of dismissal: either from the salary of a previously suspended pension, or the salary at the time of dismissal.
