Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, arrived in the Swiss city of Davos on Monday to participate in the meetings of the World Economic Forum, according to a press statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency.
The statement mentioned that Rashid, during the World Economic Forum taking place between January 16 and January 20, will meet with world leaders and heads of global economic institutions.
Rashid’s meetings will address several issues and will deliver the true picture of the security and economic stability in Iraq, which represents a suitable environment for investments that will help Iraq develop its infrastructure and provide services that meet the needs of citizens, the statement explained.
The spokesperson of the Iraqi Presidency stated that the most important issues Rashid will discuss during the World Economic Forum in Switzerland include the support for the agricultural sector and the management of water systems, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.
The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2023 is held on the theme, ‘Cooperation in a Fragmented World,’ and convenes leaders from government, business, and civil society to address the state of the world and discuss priorities for the year ahead, SDG Knowledge Hub mentioned.
The Annual Meeting is providing a platform to engage in constructive, forward-looking dialogues and is helping find solutions through public-private cooperation, SDG Knowledge Hub added.
